Intro to Musings

To begin, I want to thank all of you who has been so supportive of me along this journey. I’ve loved re-immersing myself in my writing and it has already opened so many new avenues of interest and passion for me that I am so excited to explore.

Here’s a little inside baseball about how I produce this blog. At any given time, I have about 10 posts in one stage of completion or another, and I typically move from one to the next over the course of the week, piecing them together until one or two start to emerge as more “done” than the others. It’s a process that is partly a product of my inability to focus but also a way of developing my creative process as I jump from one thought to the next. Finally, I take the ones that are done and I begin to put the finishing touches on them until they are finally ready for primetime! Or at least ready to post.

Then, there are other times when I am moved to write about something more current and that thing jumps to the front of the line. These musings are those line-cutters.

I’m sure it is clear to you that the posts are also Christian in nature, which is a function of the fact that along with writing, the exploration of my faith is the most important journey that I am on right now. It is also true, however, that I have other interests outside of religion, so I’m creating the Musings section of the blog to begin to explore those interests. Think of it as a way to change the subject a bit, as well as an opportunity to grow in how I write and what I write about.

You can expect them to be thoughtful yet not always thought-through, so I would ask in advance for your grace and forgiveness if they are not your cup of tea. And as always your feedback is very much appreciated!

As the tagline on the homepage says, this site is a journey of expression through writing, and these Musings are just another way to experience that journey.

I hope you enjoy!
